The recently opened Our Habitas Ras Abrouq is a soulful space nestled on the edge of the UNESCO-protected Al-Reem Biosphere Reserve. The luxury resort features 41 spacious villas with large outdoor decks and private plunge pools, e-bikes to explore the landscapes, and an infinity swimming pool to enjoy the stunning sunsets.
Located in an untouched region of Qatar, Ras Abrouq is Our Habitas brand’s second destination in the Middle East, following the award-winning hotels in AlUla, Saudi Arabia, that opened in 2021. This opening marks the first Our Habitas home in Qatar and forms part of a new multi-destination hotel circuit in the region.
Our Habitas Ras Abrouq offers guests complimentary daily activities from stand-up paddleboarding and glass bottom kayaking to explore the Arabian Sea’s tranquil waters, home to dolphins and diverse local marine life. Fitness enthusiasts can enjoy a spirited game of padel tennis on custom courts or take to the waters to kite surf.
Land adventures include guided mountain biking, hiking and desert explorations of the neighbouring UNESCO-protected Al-Reem Biosphere Reserve, where guests can learn about the land’s history and discover its natural wonders.
Wellness journeys at Ras Abrouq seek to encourage self-exploration and connection with nature. The resort’s wellness centre includes a state-of-the-art gym and longevity-focused amenities. Discover Inner Landscape experiences include daily yoga, desert meditation, breathwork, and sound healing for mindful well-being.
The wellness centre experience is curated based on themes of Movement, Culture, Inner Landscapes & Self Development with an array of classes, workshops and lectures. Guests can partake in ancestral-centred spa treatments, such as The Pink Qatari Clay Heritage Ritual.
Centred around the rich tapestry of Qatari culture, the resort’s daily programming welcomes guests with an array of activities, including hands-on Sadu weaving workshops, calligraphy classes, clay pottery and the art of handcrafted incense making.
Located approximately one km from Richard Serra’s iconic sculpture, East Meets West, guests can visit this unique piece and immerse in the natural beauty of the surrounding white dunes with offsite tours and excursions. In the coming seasons, Our Habitas Ras Abrouq is set to stage art exhibits, one-of-a-kind dining experiences, open-air cinema screenings, concerts and more. Our Habitas is also working in close collaboration with Qatar Museums on showcasing significant artworks, and a selection of large pieces are due to be installed at the property.
Currently, the resort is home to a stainless steel sculpture by artist and sculptor, Khalid Shahin. In curation, Our Habitas partnered with Atlas Bookstore founded by Qatari sisters Fatma Al Sehlawi and Reem Al Sehlawi on cultural advisory, who assigned Studio Imara to support specific design elements and interiors of the new resort. This allowed Our Habitas to source pieces throughout the property from up-and-coming and established local artists.
The resort’s dining destination Qissa, celebrates Arabic, Qatari, Middle Eastern, and Mediterranean cuisines. The kitchen, centred around an open coal and wood fire grill, showcases the natural brilliance of seasonal produce whilst emphasising ethical sourcing and sustainability. From breakfast to dinner, Qissa offers an authentic dining experience.
Just a step away from the sea, the resort’s Beach Club provides the ultimate barefoot spot for signature daily Sunset Rituals that bring people together. Majlis-style comfy seating and a central firepit invite guests to unwind with fresh beverages, family-style bites and interactive mixology workshops all while soaking in the breathtaking coastal views.
Our Habitas Ras Abrouq is located just an hour’s drive west of Qatar’s capital Doha.
