Located on the western shore of Vembanad Lake, in central Kerala State, Amal Tamara is a NABH-certified Ayurvedic Hospital that offers guests authentic and personalised wellness programmes based on the ancient Indian school of Ayurvedic medicine.
All guests at Amal Tamara – referred to as Amal Yatris – are guided, treated, and monitored by a team of specialist physicians, therapists, caregivers and chefs. They craft completely customised experiences that include Ayurvedic therapies, meal plans, yoga and meditation sessions, as well as cultural experiences.
Based on the premise that no two people are identical, the wellness programmes at Amal Tamara are designed taking into account each individual’s lifestyle, diet, abilities and goals. The programmes aim to balance the doshas, or bio-energies, which are considered vital indicators of balanced and holistic health.
Amal Tamara’s menu of Curative Programmes caters to a wide range of concerns, encompassing physical, mental, and spiritual well-being. Some of the standard Curative Programmes offered include Panchakarma, Ortho Care, Anti-Ageing and Rejuvenation, Eve Care, Weight Management, Immunity Booster, De-Stress and the Monsoon Karkkidaka Programme.
These standard curative programmes are customised during the pre-arrival consultations and monitored on a daily basis through consultations.
Amal Tamara’s Cure Cuisine ensures that dietary choices during an Ayurvedic programme align with the guests’ individual health goals. The personalised wellness meals, based on a deep understanding of Ayurveda, are designed to complement and enhance a guest’s wellness journey.
Under the advice of an Ayurvedic physician, Amal Yatris are offered guided sessions of meditation and yoga. These ancient practices offer not only physical exercise but also nurture good mental health, emotional balance, and spiritual upliftment.
Amal Tamara offers 19 accommodation options, in three categories: Astha, Ekta and Idha. Ranging between 350 sq.ft. and 550 sq.ft., every accommodation unit comes with a private balcony overlooking the backwaters of Vembanad Lake.
The units have elegantly designed and locally inspired interiors, featuring hardwood furniture, a workspace, single or twin beds with linen bedding, a foyer, and a bathroom.
Astha offers single-room accommodation while Ekta has an additional seating area. Idha rooms are the most spacious accommodations available at Amal Tamara, offering a separate seating area and a walk-in closet.
